Snoman Rolls out its Alcohol Free Family Zone Campaign
October 26, 2016
Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. unveiled its new Alcohol-Free Family Zone in its warm up shelters throughout the province on the snowmobile trail system. This campaign was created as a result of our continued efforts in promoting snowmobile safety, and is funded by Snoman jointly with Manitoba Public Insurance.
“Our organization is committed to safety on our trail system and this is one more step towards this goal,” stated Yvonne Rideout, Executive Director. “Snowmobiling allows Manitobans to enjoy beautiful scenery and fresh air and we welcome families to come riding with us and visit our warm up shelters.”
It has always been Snoman’s position that drinking should not be associated with snowmobiling. In order to inform and remind riders of that position, the campaign will shed light on zero tolerance for drinking on the trail system or in our shelters. As responsible snowmobilers, we want to put a positive image out there for our clubs and for snowmobiling in general.
“With approximately 12,000 kilometers of designated trails, fifty-three clubs, and over 150 shelters it is essential that we embrace safety throughout all aspects of our recreational activity,” said President Alan Butler. “We encourage our club members and other snowmobilers to respect the Alcohol-Free Family Zone.”
Snoman Inc., a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to providing strong leadership and support to its member clubs to develop safe and environmentally responsible snowmobile trails to further the enjoyment of organized recreational snowmobiling in Manitoba.
