Winnipeg set to Host the 49th International Snowmobile Congress (ISC)

Manitoba – Snoman Inc. is pleased to announce that our fellow snowmobilers will descend on Winnipeg this week as we host the 49th Annual International Snowmobile Congress (ISC) from June 7 to 10 at the Victoria Inn.  The event will see delegates from 27 states, 10 provinces, 3 territories, and 3 countries.  ISC is dedicated to the development of strategies on our common role with respect to the environment, conservation, access, education and accountability.

“We are extremely pleased to host this international event.  Our province has a lot to offer visitors and we’re sure that participants from across Canada, United States, and Norway will take the opportunity to explore the many attractions Winnipeg and Manitoba have to offer,” stated Alan Butler, President.

The event officially kicks off with opening ceremonies on Thursday, June 8 at 8:00 am with the flag ceremony, singing of the national anthems and greetings from MLA Shannon Martin, Province of Manitoba and Mayor Brian Bowman, City of Winnipeg.  During the event participants will hear from Ed Klim, President of the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association, and keynote speaker Troy Burt and an amputee who was voted North America’s Top Snowmobiler in 2016.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase our city with a global audience,” said Alan Butler. “With over 300 delegates confirmed they have the opportunity to attend many educational workshops including youth engagement, ice safety, survive outside, and avalanche safety.”

Snoman Inc., a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to providing strong leadership and support to its member clubs to develop safe and environmentally responsible snowmobile trails to further the enjoyment of recreational snowmobiling in Manitoba.
