I’m pleased to let you know that Snoman will be holding its 4th Annual Snoman Congress on October 24th and 25th at Canad Inns Club Regent Street Casino. The conference will consist of the Snoman Annual General Meeting on Friday and the following workshops on Saturday: Generational Leadership, Trail Grooming, Trail Signing Workshop, and Club Governance. Following the workshop on Saturday evening we will have the 4th Annual Snoman Excellence Awards Banquet.
We are encouraging all clubs to attend the Snoman Annual General Meeting Friday night.
Generational Leadership – Bridging the Gap:
This workshop will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00am to 12:00pm. The presenter is Dee Dee Raap and she will lay out a plan for targeting younger members and for providing the mentoring to help develop emerging leaders. There will be lots of opportunity for interaction.
Dee Dee Raap began her journey as a published author, motivational speaker and business consultant after 13 years of experience working in media, travel, banking and marketing. Dee Dee's desire to help others, her engaging communication skills and incredible ability to tell a story make her an outstanding motivational speaker, business consultant and meeting facilitator. She has inspired thousands of people to improve their lives through her empowering presentations, and helped companies across the nation reach their greatest potential.
Join the trail grooming workshop on Saturday commencing at 9:00am to 3:00pm. This workshop is presented by Kim Raap and consists of an overview of trail grooming basics, introduction to trail grooming with a drag, guidelines for operating grooming equipment, and operator safety. Mr. Kim Rapp, a world renowned expert in groomer and grooming operations, will provide an in-depth workshop on the correct methods of grooming procedures. Kim's workshop will cover all aspects of equipment and its operation in various snow conditions. He will cover the dos and don'ts of trail grooming. Kim's workshop is a must for all groomer operators.
Trail Signing Workshop:
This is a workshop takes place on Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00pm and will be presented by Snoman’s Director Dan Taylor Chairman of the Trail Audit Committee. This is not a trail signing course but rather a workshop to discuss issues and situations that may occur when signing a trail and how you may deal with these issues and still maintain the safety of the trail. This workshop is to help those that are signing club trails. Also, Dan will discuss common issues found when conducting trail audits.
This workshop taking place on Saturday afternoon from 1:00pm to 3:30pm is being presented by Ron Hayes, who has numerous years experience on governance training. There will be opportunity for lots of questions on the proper way to run your club. We ask that you come armed with questions. It will include the proper way to run a meeting, terms of reference, and duties of directors.
Annual Awards Presentation & Banquet: Will be held Saturday evening commencing at 5:30 with a cash bar followed by dinner at 6:00pm and is open to all wishing to attend. This year’s Excellence awards will be presented. This will provide the opportunity for all to socialize and have some fun. The entertainment will be by Big Daddy Tazz and includes auctioning of the newly released limited edition copies of the children’s story book. Often described as “one of the most talented comics in the business”, Big Daddy Tazz has been delighting crowds at fundraisers, corporate events, festivals and on television for more than a decade and a half. Known as the “Bi-Polar Buddha”, Tazz is equal parts comedian and motivational speaker, who likes to enlighten, educate and inspire. As a result, his one-man shows have drawn rave reviews and standing ovations from coast-to-coast. There will be raffle draws as well.
As you would appreciate there is a considerable expense in putting this event together and there is a need to secure a club commitment, to that end there will be a $35.00 registration fee for each club member attending. Registration fee includes Saturday; breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, registration for the selected workshops and one ticket to the Awards Presentation and Banquet Saturday evening.
The Conference is being held at the Canad Inns Destination Centre Club Regent Casino Hotel, 1415 Regent Ave West, Winnipeg.
