Snoman Inc. (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) is pleased to present the Snoman Snowmobile Excellence Awards program to recognize exceptional contributions to the recreational activity of snowmobiling.
The Snoman Snowmobile Excellence Awards will honor individuals, snowmobile clubs, associations, and businesses in Manitoba that, in the recent past, have made a significant contribution towards showcasing the popularity and the overall appeal of the sport, have made a remarkable effort to promote solidarity and responsibility within the snowmobile community or who have offered exceptional quality of service to snowmobilers.
Snowmobilers in every club and association affiliated with Snoman Inc. (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) will have the opportunity to submit a nomination for each of the seven (7) awards offered. These nominations will be submitted to the Awards Committee, which will select the winners. These awards will be presented to the Regional Directors at the Annual AGM and then handed out to the winners by the Regional Directors.

Award Categories
There are seven (7) categories of Snoman Snowmobile Excellence Awards. The categories and conditions of admissibility are as follows:
The Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile Dealership
The recipient of this award will be recognized for their exceptional customer and after-sales service, superior technical knowledge, superlative efforts to promote recreation, and strong ties to their local snowmobile clubs.
The Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Organized Snowmobile-Related Company
The recipient of this award will be recognized for their exceptional contribution, during the past year, to the promotion of snowmobiling. Nominees will be evaluated on their sponsorship of programs or projects in conjunction with the snowmobile community, government agencies, associations, or the media; technological innovations that provide snowmobilers with greater comfort, safety, and price-quality value; or initiatives leading to the expansion of snowmobiling or the enhancement of its safety and pleasure. The following business types may be nominated for this award; snowmobile clothing, parts, accessories, or industry supporting corporations. Excluded are the principal snowmobile manufacturers.
The Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile Family
The family receiving this award must belong to a member club or member association affiliated with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. and will have distinguished themselves in the following areas: volunteerism, leadership, safety, promotion of responsible snowmobiling and development, and community outreach.
The Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobiler
The recipient of this award must belong to a member club or member association affiliated with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. and will have distinguished him or herself in the following areas: volunteerism, leadership, safety, promotion of responsible snowmobiling, and community outreach.
The Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Groomer Operator
The recipient of this award must belong to a member club or member association affiliated with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc., and has distinguished him or herself in the following areas: demonstrated a remarkable effort in grooming and maintaining the trail system and who have donated much of their personal time and energy to improving snowmobiling in Manitoba.
The Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Support by a Non-Snowmobiling Related Business
The recipient of this award will be recognized for their exceptional contribution, during the past year, to the promotion of snowmobiling. Nominees will be evaluated on their sponsorship of programs or projects in conjunction with the snowmobile community with initiatives leading to the expansion of snowmobiling or the enhancement of its safety and pleasure. The following types of businesses may be nominated for this award: service stations, gas bars, accommodations (hotel, motel, and lodges), food services, convenience, and grocery stores.
The Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Youth Contribution Towards the Continued Development of Family Snowmobiling
The recipient of this award must be under 18 years of age and be a member or family member of a snowmobile club or association affiliated with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. They must be able to show examples that demonstrate their continued participation and dedication towards the continued growth of snowmobiling as a family-based leisure activity. In particular, examples of projects that have helped to improve the overall image of snowmobiling in the area of family involvement, safety, and environmental awareness would be most helpful. Other projects might also be considered.
Rules and Regulations
Ballots must be submitted no later than June 30th
Nomination ballots for each of the Snoman Awards will be made available to all member clubs and member associations affiliated with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc., at no cost.
Clubs or associations affiliated with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. may request as many nomination ballots as they wish. These ballots may be distributed to snowmobile club members for internal nominations to be submitted to Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. This may assist Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. in presenting the official nominations ballots to the Awards Committee, which will select and declare a winner for each category of award.
Each club or association within Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. may submit three (3) candidates per category. The candidates must be located in the province or must have been active participants in the province during the year between December 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024.
The properly completed nomination ballot is sent to the Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. head office and is postmarked no later than June 30, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. (email is preferred, with photos and articles scanned in .pdf format).
Eligibity Requirements
Snowmobile Dealership
A Snowmobile Dealership must be an accredited dealer for one of the four principal snowmobile manufacturers, between December 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024, to receive consideration for the Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile Dealership.
Business
A business (dealers are exempt from this category) must be in operation and/or do business in Manitoba between December 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024, to receive consideration for the Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Organized Snowmobile Related Company.
Snowmobiling Family
A snowmobiling family must have been members of good standing in a member club or member association affiliated with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. between December 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024, to receive consideration for the Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile Family.
Snowmobiler
A snowmobiler nominated for an award must have purchased a Snopass or have been a member of good standing during the previous or the current season, in a member club or member association affiliated with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc., to receive consideration for the Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobiler.
Groomer Operator
A groomer operator nominated for an award must have been a member in good standing in a member club or member association affiliated with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. between December 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024, to receive consideration for the Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Groomer Operator.
Snowmobiling Youth
The snowmobiling youth award nominee must have been a member in good standing or a member of a family who has been members in good standing of a snowmobile club or association affiliated with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. between December 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024, to receive consideration for the Snoman Excellence Award for Outstanding Youth Contribution Towards the Continued Development of Family Snowmobiling.
Selection
The Awards Committee will select the recipient of each Snoman Excellence Award no later than September 30, 2024. Immediately thereafter, the Awards Committee will contact the recipient and the nominating association to advise them of their selection. In keeping with the goal of the Excellence Awards program, the Awards Committee reserves the right, where it is deemed to be appropriate and justified, to select a nominee and appoint the title of “Honourable Mention” in any or all of the categories. This honour is to be bestowed to another nominee who, while not selected as a formal award recipient, is deserving of a special mention in honor of the contributions made in the given category.
